Fees inside the price
Ohio charges no separate trout stamp or Lake Erie permit — the base license covers all Ohio public water, Lake Erie and the Ohio River included. A plastic Ohio Conservation Card costs $4, and a duplicate license $4, though reprints are free online.
How long your money lasts
Annual licenses run 365 days from the day you buy them, not to a fixed calendar date. The separate regulations booklet still follows a March-to-February season for limits and seasons.
What we could not pin down
Rather than fill these in from somewhere else, they stay open until ODNR states them plainly.
- ODNR lists senior prices but does not state the qualifying age anywhere on its license page. The Ohio Administrative Code, which ODNR names as the legal authority, was unreachable at retrieval, and non-official sources disagreed between 65 and 66. No age is published here rather than a guessed one.
- Whether the free license for residents born on or before 31 December 1937 is issued once or renewed each year is not stated.
- Ohio also lists a cheaper price to upgrade a 1-day license to an annual. Those are top-up amounts, not purchase prices, so they are left out of the table to avoid reading as a bargain that does not exist.
- ODNR's pages block automated retrieval; this data was read from the rendered live pages instead.
