Disclaimer

Size limits, bag limits and season dates on this site are drawn from each state wildlife agency's published regulations. They are checked carefully and every figure carries the agency source it came from and the date it was last confirmed — but they are provided for information only. They do not replace the official regulation, the agency's own current publication, or advice from a licensed attorney. The agency's own current rule always controls, and it may be stricter than what is shown here or may have changed since the date shown.

The bite index is an experience-based model built from public weather and stream-gauge data. It ranks conditions; it is not a forecast or a guarantee of catching fish.

We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of the information published here, and disclaim liability for damages of any kind arising from access to, use of, or inability to use this information, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Data sources and licenses

State fishing regulations and statutes are government works and, as such, generally not subject to copyright protection in the United States. Stream gauge and water-level data come from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a public-domain federal data source. Weather, pressure and forecast data come from the National Weather Service (NOAA), likewise a public-domain federal source. Both are used with attribution as the agencies request. Solunar and bite-index calculations are our own work.

Reproducing any of it requires the copyright holder's prior written consent.
