Nevada's state fish, and the reason most people come to Pyramid Lake — trophy fish over 24 inches are real here, but the daily bag caps you at one of them. Fish from 20 to 24 inches (the protected trophy slot) and anything under 17 inches must be released immediately. A Tribal Fishing Permit is required — a Nevada state fishing license does not apply on this reservation water. Barbless hooks only, no bait of any kind, and no more than one rod (2 hooks) per permit without a Second Rod Permit.
What we left out on purpose
- This entry covers Pyramid Lake only, not a Nevada statewide table — Pyramid Lake is the only Nevada water this site reports on, and it sits under tribal rather than state jurisdiction, so a generic NDOW statewide table would not even apply there. Anglers fishing elsewhere in Nevada need Nevada Department of Wildlife regulations instead, not the rules on this page.
- The Sacramento perch bag limit is read from the PDF's column layout and species order rather than an explicit species-labeled figure; a secondary source (the pyramidlake.us website text) states 10 per day instead of no limit. The PDF regulations book, effective October 2025, was treated as authoritative over the website summary.
- The Truckee River (the lake's inflow, partly on the reservation) carries its own season separate from the lake itself, referenced in the penalty schedule but not detailed with specific dates in the sections read — not modelled here since this site tracks the lake, not the river.
