Arizona joins National Free Fishing Day once a year: "the Arizona Game and Fish Department will not require fishing licenses at any state waters or community lakes". Bag limits and every other Arizona fishing regulation still apply.

- Waters that are closed stay closed.
- A free day waives the license, not the rules the license comes with.
