How long your money lasts
Kansas counts from the day of purchase: the annual licences are "valid for one year from date of purchase", and the five-year versions for five. Only the calendar day licence is tied to a named day.
What we could not pin down
Rather than fill these in from somewhere else, they stay open until KDWP states them plainly.
- ksoutdoors.gov refused every automated request at retrieval, 403 to scripts and to the rendered browser alike. Fees here come from K.A.R. 115-2-1 as published in the Kansas Register, effective 12 September 2025, and the licence requirement from K.S.A. 32-906.
- Kansas statute K.S.A. 32-988 only sets maximum fees and hands the actual figures to the secretary, so the statute alone would have been no use — the published regulation is what binds.
- KDWP names its two free fishing days each year and has recently used the first weekend in June. Those announcements sit on the departmental site that would not respond, so the rule is published without dates.
- The youth licence is a one-time purchase valid from 16 through 20. What it costs or covers if bought at 20 is not addressed in the regulation.
