How much is a fishing license in Georgia?
$15 a year if you live here, $50 if you don't. Mountain trout water needs the separate trout licence on top, and saltwater needs the free SIP permit.

Fees inside the price
A transaction fee comes on top: 3 dollars online and at retail counters, 5 by telephone. Saltwater anglers also need the free SIP permit — a phone or internet authorisation covers you for seven days until the paper licence arrives.
How long your money lasts
Georgia's annual licences run a year from purchase. The short-term ones start as a single day, and you can bolt on up to ten more consecutive days at the cheaper daily rate — eleven days in a row at most.
What we could not pin down
Rather than fill these in from somewhere else, they stay open until Georgia DNR states them plainly.
- The fee table was read from eRegulations, the publisher Georgia DNR links to for its official regulations digest; the DNR's own licence page answered with HTTP 403 at retrieval. Both are listed as sources.
- The resident one-day and additional-day rates are shown on the DNR table as 'see combo' rather than as figures, so they are left out instead of guessed.
- Free fishing days: the programme exists but no dated 2026 announcement was read, so the rule stands here without dates.
